Founders

Ms. Sabina Kodra, is an experienced film producer. She has established Era Film company in 2001, which has produced so far 7 feture films, 4 short and many documentaries. Era Film is the leader company in the Albanian cinematography with a number of international prizes, the last one was “A shelter among the clouds”. Sabina is the producer of the first Albanian TV series focused on media freedom “The square of power”she founded in 2018 the first association for women in the audio-visual AWA as a necessity of the time to support the participation of women in the audio-visual sector and achieve gender equality in the decision-making bodies.

Ms. Suela Bako is an director, actress, writer, casting director. She has been part of many theatre and film productions. She’s a resident actress at “Aleksander Moisiu” theatre. She debuted as a theatre director in 2018. She has more than 10 years of experience as a TV director in the most important TV stations in Albania. She graduated MA in Film & Tv Directing in 2014. Since than she realised several short films and documentaries as a writer/director and her works have been shown and awarded in festivals such as Thessaloniki, Brussles and Krakow Film Festival. She’s a cofounder of Z-Studio, the first Albanian Actors Agency founded in 2021. She works as an as/lecturer in the University of Arts in Tirana, Film & Tv directing branch.

Ms. Eglantin Cenomeri born in Tirana, Albania in 1981, experienced part of her childhood in Berlin, Germany. She studied Directing and Dramaturgy at the Academy of Fine Arts, graduating successfully. Eglantina furthered her education with postgraduate studies, earning a Master’s Degree in Philosophy and Sociology from the University of Sciences in Tirana, focusing on “Theatre Anthropology” in her dissertation. Her career began as a director in the Young Directors Project at the National Theatre, where she directed George Goldenberg’s “Knepp.” She also gained valuable experience as an assistant director, collaborating with renowned figures such as Ellen Stewart at “La Mamma” theatre for “AESCLEPIUS” and Austrian Director Chris Papke for “Thomas Bernhard’s Force of Habit.” Eglantina’s talents extend to acting, with notable performances in various international theatrical productions, including works like “Becket’s Sweet – Thattine – Not I – Quad” with Astragali Teatro and Vangelis Vasilopoulos’ “Trojans.” She also participated in Bertolt Brecht’s “A Respectable Wedding” at the National Theatre of Tirana and Adonis Filipi’s “Electra” at the National Theatre. In addition to her stage work, Eglantina has made appearances in several short films, including “SATURDAY CIGARETTES” and “Signs” directed by Odeta Cunaj, which won the Short Film category at FILM FEST 2009. She has also contributed to feature films such as the Belgian production “DOSSIER K” directed by Yan Verhayan, which received the Special Jury Prize at the Durres International Film Festival in 2010, and “AGON,” a feature film directed by Robert Budina.

Ema finished her studies at the Academy of Arts in 1993 with a major degree in Acting. For more than 10 years she has been a lecturer at the Academy of Arts, and a successful actress and director in Albania. Ema is known for being an activist of women’s rights and as one of the most prominent media figures for raising awareness for gender equality in Albania.

Rafaela founded Iceberg Communication in 1999, currently a leading company in the field of advertising. She has been volunteering for more than 6 years in various programs for empowering women in business and entrepreneurship.

Born in Elbasan, Albania, Luljeta Lleshanaku grew up under Enver Hoxha’s Stalinist regime. Forbidden from pursuing a higher education under his rule, she was eventually able to study at the University of Tirana. She later earned an MFA from Warren Wilson College. She is the author of eight poetry collections published in Albania, and four in English: Fresco: Selected Poems (New Directions, 2002); Haywire: New and Selected Poems (Bloodaxe Books, 2011), shortlisted for the Corneliu M. Popescu Prize for European Poetry Translation; Child of Nature (New Directions, 2010); and Negative Space (New Directions, 2018).

Lleshanaku’s work has been translated into French, Slovak, and German as well as English and appeared in journals including Grand Street and the Seneca Review. She won the Crystal Vilenica Prize and has been awarded residences and fellowships from the University of Iowa International Writers’ Program and the Black Mountain Institute. She is currently the research director at Tirana’s Institute of Studies of Communist Genocide.

Mira Tuci is a Senior Journalist of Culture Department at the Albanian Public Television. She is known to be one of the most qualified journalists of art and culture in Albania with more than ten years of producing stories, reportage and interviews shifting from theater to literature from music to cinema. Due to the valuable contribution to the media, she had the opportunity to be accredited as a journalist for the Popes Francis Visit in Albania. She also attended and pursued many regional and international movie festivals as screenwriter for the National Festival of Song in RTSH, or cultural events including here the Berlinale film Festival, National Film festival in Durres etc.…
Prior to this she worked as Author of “ArTi” a TV program hosted by Digitalb – TOP Media a program that hosted prominent personalities of arts and not only Albanian ones but even stars such Duff McKagan or Italian writers. Earlier she used to be a senior journalist producing for more than four years the TV Program “Almanak” as an interviewer and moderator of many famous artists and writers like: Ismail Kadare, Michele Placido, James Belushi or directors like Giuseppe Tornatore, Kean Loach, and Paolo Sorrentino.
She started to write for the daily newspaper “KohaJone” and then for a known televisions like TVA and Alsat (Albanian Satellite Television) always as a journalist of culture. She holds a Master of Arts in European Studies at IRERIE France, a Specialized course on PR and Communication at the (Presidenza Regionaled’ Umbria) in Perugia and a degree in Journalism from University of Tirana.
