In the framework of the Project Reporting Diversity Network – The New Agenda co-funded by the European Union, Albanian Women in Audiovisual is seeking to contract a project coordinator who will be responsible for the execution of the following tasks: please see Terms of Reference below.

About us:

AWA is a non-profit organization that focuses on advancing the promotion and support of women in the audiovisual sector. Albania Women in Audiovisual is a unique organization dedicated to creating a better work environment for women professionals by improving legislation, strengthening the capacities of women professionals on gender-sensitive topics, and empowering young audiences with media literacy skills.

In its mission to enhance diversity in media content, AWA has positioned itself as a feminist media hub. It develops media campaigns and produces content using ICT (Information and Communication Technology) as a key tool to connect with its audiences. This includes podcasts, edutainment, and social media content.

 

About the position:

We are looking to fill the position of Project Coordinator (50% working time position)

Project: Reporting Diversity Network – The New Agenda

The purpose of the RDN network is to activate the role of civil society in counter measuring the narratives of the divide and replacing them with much needed positive discourse contributing to the value of good neighbouring relations and respect for diversity. As all WB countries do have legal framework preventing hate, supporting antidiscrimination, and regulating media, the RDN use the potential of the existing regulative in synergy with innovative methodology and campaigning to publicly uncover, expose and challenge the most frequent and exemplary misuse of media for conveying messages of fear, disrespect and hate towards the others.

TERMS OF REFERENCE

Task and responsibilities

 

  • Coordination of all the project activities during the project implementation.
  • Coordinates with project partners and subgrantees and manages relations with stakeholders
  • Day-to-day coordination and collaboration with Partners and Media Monitors
  • Organize the project’s events; present results; coordinate all activities; organize the monitoring and evaluation.
  • Contribute to the management of the system for control in direct communication with the executive director and financial manager.
  • Ensure that all deliverables are realized, tracked, filed, and in compliance with project objectives and requirements.
  • Handle the logistics and all procedures of the projects;
  • Prepare reports to donors (interims and final).
  • Prepares short articles to be published in the official website and Social Media platforms of AWA;
  • Monitor and check the interim/final reports from the subgrantees and grassroots organizations;
  • Provide management information for the AWA director, to contribute to better ongoing planning, reporting, monitoring, and learning;
  • Participate at AWA governing body meetings, as appropriate, until the end of the project to ensure fundraising and program are integrated into the AWA development.
  • Participate at Partner’s Meeting
  • Work collaboratively with others in the AWA team.

 

To be considered for this role, applicants should have the following respective experiences and skills:

  • University degree / Master of Science (is preferred) in Media, Social Sciences, Sociology, Education Studies, Law, Political Science or similar fields;
  • Knowledge of all aspects of planning and implementing a project cycle;
  • Solid knowledge of the legal and policy frame work for Gender and Media in Albania
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in project management and administration is required, with previous experience working on EU-funded projects considered advantageous.
  • Coordination and team communication skills
  • Good ICT skills (such as among other MS Office, One Drive, Google Drive, MS Project, Doodle, Canva, WordPress);
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational and writing skills;
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English;
  • Good planning skills and ability to respect deadlines;
  • Ability to work individually and in a team
  • Flexibility in responding to the needs of AWA and RDN
