On 9 October 2025, at 6:00 PM, the Agimi Art Centre welcomed audiences for a special evening marking the second premiere of the “Breaking the Moulds – Shaping the Future” mini-grants programme, an event organised by Albanian Women in Audiovisual (AWA) as part of its initiative supporting innovative media productions.
The event brought together seven creative projects, presenting seven stories, seven perspectives, and seven unique ways of breaking conventional media narratives.
An Evening Dedicated to the Power of Storytelling and Feminist Perspectives
Mentored by Iris Canaj for more than three months, the selected projects showcased the strength of creative voices and the courage to address social issues with depth, sensitivity, and a distinctive artistic approach.
The evening became a space for reflection on the role of women in the media, gender relations, and the ways in which art and journalism can contribute to meaningful social change.

More Than 70 Participants, Seven Stories, One Shared Vision
Around 80 guests, including journalists, artists, activists, and communication students, attended the event, following the screenings and the discussions that followed with great interest.
The event once again confirmed the importance of creating new spaces for emerging voices in the media, promoting diversity, gender equality, and innovation in storytelling.
“Breaking the Moulds – Shaping the Future” represents not only the success of AWA’s mini-grants programme, but also its continued commitment to supporting projects that challenge stereotypes and inspire positive social change.
Through initiatives like this, Albanian Women in Audiovisual (AWA) continues to build bridges between art, journalism, and activism, promoting a new vision for the role of the media in Albanian society.
